19th December, Full Moon in Gemini: Rebirth.

The end of the year is near, bringing with it two astronomical events of importance: the last full moon of this 2021, close to the Winter Solstice and, indeed, Yule.

In fact, I believe the word "solstitial" can be used to define the energies of this lunation - also called "Cold Moon" in Old Farmer's Almanac, a worthy chapter to conclude this complex year both on an empirical and a subtle level.

Why the comparison with the Winter Solstice, apart from the proximity of the dates? The solstice represents the culmination of the descent into darkness, which began with the Autumn Equinox: a season dedicated to introspection, to the apparent death of Nature around us and our spiritual "death", a path designed to change our skin and free ourselves of what we no longer need. After the longest night, the days get longer again, bringing with them the hope of a new cycle on the horizon.

And it is precisely this type of energy that this full moon gives us: diametrically opposite to the New Moon in Gemini in June, it leads us to reflect on the changes made during this last semester, studded with hard but necessary astrological events (think of the recent Eclipse Season). And like the Solstice, the hopeful symbol of a newly born sun on the horizon, this full moon also leads us to breathe a sigh of relief! Once again we managed to overcome the most difficult part of the year, it is time to finally look to the sky with renewed optimism and look proudly at the fruits of our spiritual harvest.

Not only does the sign of Gemini invite us to be intellectually stimulated, curious and connected both to ourselves and to the community around us, the Moon is in a harmonious trine with Jupiter - planet of optimism and abundance par excellence, which in turn it is found in Aquarius.

Being both signs of Air and devoted above all to a sense of collectivity, we will probably feel more stimulated to dedicate ourselves to our social side (especially as regards friendships).

Jupiter will be one of the great protagonists of 2022, click here to find out more.

But beware of Venus retrograde in Capricorn, in disharmony with the position of the Moon, which could cause tension in the way we think others relate to us: the way we feel (the Moon) is not in sync with the way in which we receive or express our affection (Venus) but fear not! Not all evil comes to harm, Venus in retrograde motion will highlight relationship problems to be solved - if any.

You can read here our guide on how to relate to retrograde planets.

Happy Lunation and Rebirth.
