18th December, New Moon in Sagittarius.

This morning, the New Moon entered the house of Sagittarius.

The New Moon is a lunar phase particularly indicated for new energetic cycles, exasperated in this case by the time of its manifestation (dawn), the time of the year (the rebirth of the sun during the solstice) and by the zodiac sign: the Sagittarius.

The fervour of the Sagittarius is giving us the push to start new paths, broaden our horizons and start new activities.
Like the arrow, pointed to the sky by the centaur, we are pointing ourselves towards the future. A future full of confidence, hope and will to start anew. A journey also towards our inner selves, looking for the truth beyond our limitations and mind schemes.

The Goddess that represents best this research of the truth and justice is Maat.

Maat is the Egyptian Goddess of Truth, Justice and Harmony, the personification of the concept of Maat itself: the law that was ruling life and afterlife.

Maat is the ethical and morale principle that had to be followed by every Egyptian citizen during his/her life; the punishment was eternal damnation.

Maat is the cosmic harmony that rules the natural world, the universe, the citizens and the state.


The Goddess Maat is depicted with an ostrich feather on her head, the same feather that would have been used by Anubis to weigh the hearts of the deceaseds and judge their conduct during their mortal time.
